Professional vinyl record flattening on a custom-built thermal press. Each record gets its own treatment protocol — gentle heat, careful timing, slow cool-down. No rush. No shortcuts. 500+ records successfully restored since 2024.
From warped and unplayable to flat and musical — a tailored approach for every disc
The record is placed in a custom-built thermal press: slow, controlled heating to a precise temperature, a hold phase, then a very gradual cool-down. The algorithm is chosen individually based on the record's weight, label, pressing era, and the nature of the warp. Never rushed — results over speed.
from ~$9 USDA clean record responds to heat treatment far better than a dirty one. I strongly recommend washing before flattening. You can clean the record yourself before shipping, or add ultrasonic cleaning to your order — handled with all the care your vinyl deserves.
Add-on · from ~$1.50 USDNot in Russia? No problem. I accept records by post from anywhere in the world. Once work is complete, I'll send you a video showing the record before and after treatment, then ship it back. You're kept informed every step of the way.
Post · Courier · Yandex DeliveryHonest guidance before you ship — because no one wants surprises
The good news is that the most common types of warp respond well to thermal treatment.
I cannot guarantee a 100% outcome — vinyl responds in ways that depend on its history and composition — but I will always do everything in my power to achieve the best possible result. I'll never take on a record I don't think I can help.
Simple, transparent, and you're kept in the loop throughout
Message me on Telegram or WhatsApp. A short description and a video clip of the warp (much more informative than photos) is all I need to assess the case.
A clean record flattens better. Wash it before shipping, or add ultrasonic cleaning to your order. A clean stylus path makes a real difference to the result.
Your record enters the press: gentle heating, precise temperature hold, then a slow, controlled cool-down. Each cycle runs 4–9 hours — patience is part of the craft.
I send you a before-and-after video so you can see the outcome yourself. Then your record is carefully packed and shipped back to you.

Straightforward rates — no hidden costs, no surprises
Approx. $9 USD / €8 EUR. Dish warps, edge waves, moderate ramps. 12″ and 10″ records of standard weight.
Approx. $13 USD / €12 EUR. Coloured vinyl behaves differently from standard black — requires a test cycle and roughly double the treatment time. Extra care is built into the price.
International shipping is handled by the client. I'll advise on safe packing. Use a rigid mailer plus bubble wrap — records are surprisingly robust when packed well.
All prices quoted in Russian rubles (RUB). USD/EUR equivalents are approximate and vary with exchange rates. Payment details on request.
A step-by-step guide for international customers
Before packing anything, message me with a short video of the warp. I'll confirm whether I can help and agree on terms.
Rigid LP mailer (or two pieces of corrugated cardboard, cut to size) + at least one layer of bubble wrap around the disc. The record should not be able to move inside the parcel.
Use a tracked service — standard international post works fine. Once shipped, send me the tracking number so I can watch for the parcel.
I'll confirm receipt, tell you when treatment starts, and send before-and-after video when done.
I pack your record with the same care and ship it back. Tracking number sent to you immediately.
I've worked with records shipped from across Russia and accept international parcels. If you're outside Russia, just factor in shipping time when planning — treatment itself takes 6–9 hours per cycle, but I'll always communicate expected turnaround before you ship.
Prefer to communicate in English? That's absolutely fine — feel free to write in English on Telegram or WhatsApp and I'll do my best to respond in kind.
I reply to messages as promptly as I can. For faster responses, try Telegram. Phone calls are welcome between 11am and 10pm Moscow time (UTC+3).
RecordsFan is growing into something much larger: a comprehensive archive and database of Russian and Soviet gramophone records — artists, composers, labels, pressing plants, and releases — searchable, documented, and accompanied by digitised audio, historical catalogues, and primary source material.
The current service — record flattening — funds and informs this archive project. Every restored disc is a piece of music history that survives another generation.
